R3 rear shocks - last question.. maybe..

I found on ebay the Progressive 412 12.5" part #412-4219C for $221.90

The Progressive 412 13" part #412-4213C for $221.90.

And the 440 12.5" part #440-4233C for $493.65.
All heavy duty.. assuming you get what you pay for, and the 440's are the best and/or newest, I'm leaning toward the 412 12.5" ones as being still a better than stock ride. But will go with the 440's if they are much better.

Also, why the different sizes? don't want to raise or lower seat height.

Go the 440's if you are going to go with progressives as I believe they have more adjustability, the 12.5" is fairly std but if you want to improve the steering ie sharpen it up a bit the 13" will help

DO NOT BUY THOSE 412s !!!
They are **** - at least if you like to push you motor at all in the twisties.
Very Very stiff and NO damping.

I bought a set put a 100 mile ride on them and called Progressive.
They wouldn't credit me anything for a return even when I offered to upgrade to the 944s.
I'm done with Progressive. The one on my other motor (mono) has been awesome. When it wears out, I'll buy another brand.

12.5" is the stock height. and I concur with the 412s. I bought 412s with the standard springs instead of the HD. With the standard springs, the springs are too soft.. and NO damping!.. Might as well be just riding on springs back there!..

Hagons and YSS are good shocks. never crank the springs down all the way they will fully extend the shock and you will not have any flex, which will make them ride like a hard tail. Buy the right spring weaight for what you are and bags if your using them. You must get the right sag when lifting the bike up and sitting on it or your throwing your money away. Heavy duty springs if your a heavy duty feller . Yss has adjustable length + or - 10 mm if you want to be able to work on length adjustment to fit your riding style. It cost more to buy from a dealer but buying correctly set up ones for you is better then pissing money down the drain. That being said both Hagon nitros and the YSS comanies make shocks with adjustable rebound damping. This is not the area you want to skimp on. If so stay with the stock ones !!!
