Which Photo is correct for the front wheel spacers IMG_0277.JPG IMG_0278.JPG Thinking the first photo is correct. (2015 Rocket X)

Thanks but that is why I posted. The Illustrated diagrams suck. They do not show #rap. Pretty sure the first photo is correct. Just want to be sure. Got the Dunlop Elite three mounted today and on the way home it started to rain. So it looks like sometime tomorrow we will get it installed. Hopefully someone will chime in and correct me if I am wrong.

you're correct sonny the first pic is correct orientation. you'd know when that's the only way the spacer will go into the dirt seal on RHS
yours will have the ABS sensor bracket too that goes between the left hand spacer above and the left fork

Exactly as Turbo says . You need three hands to hold wheel , locate axle and hold ABS bracket it seems ! And don't forget a smear of grease to the oil seal lips before you put the spacers in .

Thanks. It never hurts to ask. This is my third tire on the front but got to looking at it and could not for the life of me remember how it came off the bike. I grease the axle and the spacers. Nothing worse than a frozen axle. ABS bracket i place a piece of tape to hold in place during assembly. Thanks guys kind of figured we had it but :cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:

I know what you mean , I removed the throttle bodies and dismantled half the loom under the tank . It was all there in my head , until 2 weeks later when the coolant sensor turned up . Oh how I wish I marked the connections and cable runs !  :banghead: :banghead:

Anytime I work on the bike I take pictures before taking it apart. This morning did not. Got in a hurry because my friend who works for Honda in Tulsa said he could hook me up and change out tires for $20.00 if I got there before noon. Before his boss showed up, Carry ins are charged $50.00 if tire is not purchased from them.

The wheel is only supposed to go on one way......one of the spacers fits into a recess in the wheel hub and I reckon it preloads the wheel bearings. It should be on riders left...note that I have a Touring with dual rotors and the X may be different. But the other spacer is just that, a spacer, and does not fit into any recess. With regard to the axle, the end the allen wrench fits into, the fat end, goes to riders right. It won't fit the other way at all.

I have a vehicle mot station next door but he can't guarantee his machine won't tear up my rims , he wouldn't charge me but I don't fancy risking it . A good pal of mine is head tech at a triumph dealership and he fits my tyres in his lunchbreak free of charge , only problem being it's a 40 mile round trip so it's a tenner in fuel . Can't really complain tho !
