progressive front springs - worth doing?

I was out last night on well surfaced roads and realised that if my car jiggled about as much as the Rocket I would have been taking it in to the garage for investigation. Don't get me wrong the bike handles amazingly well for such a massive beast, and I realise that it's a trade off, but I'm fancying doing some long trips into Europe and I was wondering whether big tourers like the BMWs or the Pan Europeans are set up for much more compliant riding on good roads with a consequent reduction in performance in the twisties.
I have hagons front and back now and the handling is good, and the sharp bumps are less noticeable than with the stock suspension, but the jiggling can get tiring on a long run

..the ride is just to rough on the front..and rear too actually, even though I've got 440s on the back..I'm hoping changing the oil weight from 5 to 10 will help it a bit..
I thought it was the other way around - surely putting a thinner 5w oil in would allow more sudden movements of the fork?

Nah,the oil acts as a dampner. If the oil is too thin the forks bounce too much & the springs overload then unwind agressively,( ie too much movement) because they arn't being damped properly.
Obviously, if the oil is too thick... the frount end can't respond well to the road surface as the forks won't react fast enough.. It's all about finding the sweet spot.

You got me worried BB so I did a trawl of the web, and gotta say most articles suggest that if I want a softer more compliant ride I need a lighter weight oil. What do others think? Will probably email hagon and ask them.

For soft, read soggy.. compare a sports bike frount end.. much firmer. Too soft & it corners crap & dives under braking.

Now I am to small to push my front end down and bounce it but I can say she dives when braking hard !!!! What do you think Bones should I change them whi;st I have the motor down and go with 5 weight oiL ? I have the cash now that I sold my extra Carrillo rods and J&E blower pistons.

Yeah you've got a few miles on yours, I believe... Certainly won't hurt to slot a set of progressive springs in there. From experience I'd start with 10 wt. oil tho...
