Bought a low mileage o9 Touring. Have ridden for two weeks and have had no problems. Today while cleaning I found it has a power commander installed. No air cleaner was under the seat. The pipes are (appear) stock. Guess I'll start with dyno run to see what the current state of tune is. Can anyone point me to any references to living with and tuning the Rocket with the PC? I can live with the current tune but would like to know the actual state of the current tune of the bike. Since I have no prior riding experience with this bike I have no point of reference to compare current performance to.

You can buy a $20 cable on ebay and download TuneECU to see and edit the tune stored in the control unit. Since the PC modifies the outputs of the tune downstream I would assume that you will need to hook it up to a computer to get the settings. TuneECU works well with a little $250 netbook.

and, forgive my thoughtlessness, welcome to the board and congrats on your new bike. Where abouts in Texas?

Morning Jerry:D The tune in the ECU will almost certainly be stock. How much alteration the PC is doing? prolly not much if still on stock pipes etc. Since most tuners love PC, you should'nt have too much trouble getting it checked out. Might be worth getting some Jardines first tho? if you intend to go tougher.. save you money at the dyno doing one set of runs not 2

While swapping seats I checked further...found triple kn filters are in fact installed. Pipes don't indicate what they are, so I assume stock. However, I did find a service receipt. Contacted the shop and was told the bike had been serviced/mods done there. Wasn't able to talk with the mechanic but the service rep new the owner and the bike and said it was definitely a strong running R3T. I'll pop by the shop tomorrow weather permitting.
