If it's not too much a stretch for your bankbook, have a peak at the tourer, it comes with all the goodies....and probably a bit cheaper to get it all in one swipe, than to piece it together. Of course the roadster has a different stance and tuning, so that may be what you are after and if so....have a it! You'll have a terrific bike either way~

I have found "Easy Brackets" are the best for quick and clean pannier removal.
The engine guards are a must IMHO.
I also use less expensive "River Road Quantum X-Large slanted saddlebags"

I looked long and hard at the Tourer because it has as standard screen and panniers. The rocker style gear change does not appeal to me and I really prefer a more naked style of bike.

That said the Tourer is a nice piece of kit.

Get the sports screen, helps a bit with the wind, Have done 800km in a day with that and didn't worry me at all
Factory panniers if they come up on ebay, got mine for $200 with the liners, but you have to be fast

I am new to this site and have not yet got a Triumph Rocket.

I’m looking at the Roadster 2015 model. I want to fit uprated mirrors, the larger cruiser style screen and the battery optimizer.

Can’t decide whether to fit the factory leather panniers. They seem rather big and I’m not going to do a lot of cruising. Expensive too at $AUS 1200+

Has anyone had any issues with the ABS model 2015 Triumph?

Would appreciate ideas from experienced owners.

Mate i just bought a 2015 14 compliance roadster. You will be very happy. Amazing on all fronts. Not a corner machine but the presence street credibility and torque is second to none.

Hi Jellyroll welcome from another Aussie I have the R3R 2014 I bought mine in Melbourne and rode it back to Brisbane over 3 days no screen no issues either.
Forget the saddle bags and get yourself some rear shocks the stock one's on there are **** soft wallow in the corners absolute crap unless you weigh 55kg....
Shocks first, plenty of talk on here about shockies have a look...

New R3s don't seem to have any systemic problems, but I do see some random issues pop up now and then, kind of expected in any model or make.

No reason to not buy one as far as maintenance goes (except tires).

AND no tire problems if your a NORMAL rider
