Polished Stainless Radiator Inserts...

sidecar Flip, You did a really nice job of the radiator insert.
can't wait untill you post a picture with it on a black radiator, I think it will really stand out.

Thank you. Some of this stuff gets really involved but the end result is very nice. Randy Baxter called me this afternoon. My R3 is back together and running just fine. I have to get out to Marne and pick it up, hopefully, within the next month. Soon as I get it back, I'll be installing one of my inserts with a blacked out OEM screen. I didn't have a chance to install one before I took the bike to Marne, the inserts got done the Saturday I met Brian and Tomo in Marne and dropped the bike off. It was real colse, but no cigar.

Those do look nice Flip, I've got a birth day in May...so with any luck the Mrs. will catch my subtle hints. How about making a truck style grill gaurd and maybe a headache rack, these f-ing deer are starting to piss me off.

I'm sure that before your birthday, we will have some pictures posted with the insert installed....Including my Classic. It's done and according to Randy, running just fine. I just have to get out there to pick it up.

Gave those up 1-1-09. They cost a fortune up here...like 7 bucks a pack.
Good on ya! It cheaper to do the left handed sort anymore and better for ya:roll:At that rate it's over 5k per year (average). Stimulus package! Let me deduct the entire batch of taxes on smokes and gasoline and I might afford my share of the bailout costs if I live another 300 years. Do you have a grip on the theft of the Hiqhway Trust "fund" and the supposed Social Security "Trust funds". Rumor has it that various taxes have recently been proposed on each vehicle driven mile. Some proposal in the coastal SE is said to be $0.04 per mile driven:mad: I don't know the legit on it. But the very thought of it...if evil can be envisioned, evil will come. The moral value of good has been lost in the pursuit and exercise of power. There simply are no longer controls except for the honest man.
Rape comes to mind:soapbox:

I've got to keep this on Rocket III issues: Greatly looking forward to the new arrival. thanks for making great products. I know the grill embellisher will be top notch!

There has always been a Highway Use Tax levied on heavy trucks and commercial vehicles engaged in Interstate Commerce but nener on passanger vehicles...
Excuse me! I'm paying $380 tomorrow on various vehicle use taxes; including high way use tax euphemistically called a license tag, as well as ad valorem tax, imposed upon my ownership of vehicles. Then there's upwards to $0.61 taxed-on by some states, the amount varies across the country, on each gallon of gasoline.

Imagine: If you drive a 20mpg/gallon vehicle, thats an additional $0.20 per gallon if the $0.01 per mile tax were to come to fruition. Or $0.80 per gallon if the $0.04/mile tax became law. Add to that the next episode of unregulated fuel price speculation that again drives the price to $150/barrel oil. Now there's motivation to buy a green vehicle:cool: And you thought the price of transported goods skyrockets before. This, imo, was the spark that set the collapse in motion. While behind the scenes the corruption in the FIRE empire was coming to a head steadily, this was the spark that motivated so many to rat hole and change buying habits instead of continuing to spend; to keep debt finance capitalism going consumers must consume.

Speaking of stainless inserts; it is possible to chrome stainless and if so is it a better chrome? Not that I want chrome, I was just curious?

Geeze , I was referring to the mandated highway use tax levied on heavy trucks over and above licensing fees, fuel taxes and reciprocity fees. Heavy trucks pay all the taxes you pay on fuel and licensing plus they pay FET on everything including the initial vehicle purchase and quarterly HUT taxes. The average 5 axle tractor trailer pays in the excess of $25,000.00 in taxes every year. A bit more than your pay I imagine.

You can chrome anything. Whether, in fact it will stick remains to be seen. The reason you go with polished stainless is the longevity of the finish as well as the ease of maintenance. It never pits or degrades and it's extremely weather resistant.
