:) I have finally installed a tune boy and would appreciate some help please.

I have a Rocket III 06 Model with Jardines and stock airfilter at present.

Wayne from tune boy has just assisted me to authenticate tune boy to my bikes ECU. (Thanks Wayne)

The screen at the top of Tune Boy tune edit screen lists File (020225 tune.dat)...std 020225 tune

The ECU indicates Tune (020145) Rocket III standard pipe and catalyst.

The bike is popping on decel liks a bstard and I was hoping to eliminate or reduce this.

I have been viewing this site for a while now researching and there are so many variations that I am unsure which tune to load into tune boy to help with the decel popping. I also am not sure of the process for downloading a different tune.

i am considering the Undertank K&N filter setup as described by PIG9 but at the moment would like to try a tune with current setup

Could somebody please help.

Thanks (Computer idiot)

If you want the undertank it's RU511 and it will not fit the Touring. Only the R3 standard, Tribal and Classic You'll get a bigger increase in power with the RU2780's (3) Under Bearclaw Pod Filters but you'll have to add the 62-1560 AT Sensor Filter (to mount the air temp sensor in lieu of the plastic plenum) and the 62-1340 Cannkcase Filter (to replace the breather hose from the now non-functional air box).

They are all on the website.

I will put together a tune for you. I can't remember any "canned" tunes that are out there for your particular set up. If you can get it to connect to the bike in Tunedit then you should be fine. The only other thing to do is open another tune file then hit the upload button.

Thanks Pig9r.

The bike connects no probs in Tune edit now. having never played with it before I was worried that I may stuff up and lose the original tune.

I have read your posts re O2 Sensor. I beleive Wayne has a tune that bypasses the O2 sensor so that the ECU does not override custom maps.

thanks for the reply

Thanks for the reply Flip.

Will probably go with the undertank. Do the triple pod filters pose a problem riding distance in the rain? Not that it rains often in Alice Springs, however i like to get out of here occasionally.

Cheers

You should still check to be sure the O2 sensor is not turned on, and it is really easy to remove the O2 sensor so you don't foul it out with it being turned off. Go to napa and get you a 18 mm Oil Drain Plug, mine had them in stock. From every tune I looked at, I still needed to go in and make sure that the O2 was turned off, and then saved. Easy thing to check out, just check your last saved tune and see if this was done. If not, it needs to be.

Thanks LS I will remove the O2 sensor after reading from this forum.

Do I still need to install the dynajet sensor bypass? or just disconnect physically and replace with the 18mm plug and uncheck the O2 sensor in tuneboy?

Sorry for all the questions. I have always had bikes with carbs prior to this beast so the laptop thing is all new to me.

Thanks for the input

:eek:Bart

I just took out the plug and replaced with the 18mm drain plug and mine is fine. I also took the 02 plug off the bike and put it in a plastic bag and it is now hanging on the wall ready to install for when I take it to the dealer to get any recalls done on it. You might want to consider putting some electrical tape over the end of the part that you unplug that stays on the bike, I did. I did not like the idea of water possibly getting in that plug.

Toymn8r - your current setup is kind of unique but I think these should get you in the ballpark. As far as the bypass, I would recommend getting one when you can. That way if you forget to disable the O2 sensor in Tuneboy you are covered and it keeps the plug clean.

Try the 20050staintune map in this thread.

If it is still popping on decel try this one:

If it still continues, try this one:

I just realized that for the power commander they have a tune for Jardines with the stock exhaust. So I made a tune where I imported the PCIII map. This might work pretty good for you and it has some extra added for decel popping.
