Carry a spare, Crack - it's a CR2032.
You should just make a point of changing it out annually on your birthday, when the clocks change, etc
- whenever you change your Smoke/CO2 detector batteries in your home - you DO change those out, right folks?
Be interested to see just how long one goes for someone who rides daily, but a year appears to be no problem.

Think I'll start to carry the spare battery at the 9 month point good call!
I just took all the batteries out of our smoke detectors in the house...those things are annoying when they die in the middle of the night! Much quieter this way; besides nobody smokes inside anymore so what's the point

It is never in my pocket - it hangs on my belt.
It does get a good response when I wave my hand towards the bike as Obi-Wan Kenobi would, while quietly pressing the button on my belt with the other hand.
