PDM60 Techie question.

motogadget fromgermany makes a nice block as well I am going to replace the EB PC8 with motogadget block this winter
The MotoGadget block is a BIT OTT for this imo. Not to mention the price.
I have Motogadget stuff - it's good but depending on what you intend to do - it may not be the best solution. Certainly would not help me at the mo'.

I have PDM60s on order. Radical rewiring planned.

what do you suggest ??
since i am a zero + in electrics I guess i will skip on motogadget electric block , save a bundle and look for something else to replace the old PC80

Depends what you want to wire up - switched or always live? - How many circuits live?. Amperages?

The Motogadget m-Unit is really for wiring a custom bike up from scratch with minimalist switchgear etc.

I guess conceivable options are PDM60 or http://www.fuzeblocks.com/index.php if you want something a little more traditional.

Patrick,
Remind me when I see you this Wednesday and I'll show you my PDM60.
I believe it's the way to go and now @DEcosse sells them!

ok we will see.
I will be in ephrata tuesday afternoon see you wednesday

Sure hope I was not the cause of making you hang over in Ephrata for the night?
If ya wanna just ride here on Tuesday I can offer a clean, comfy bed and TV in a bedroom cluttered with storage items around the walls.

Well, Eastern Beaver has a fuse block as well. It's analog, ie uses normal fuses, which doesn't have to be a bad thing as those only come into play if you have a short. It looks like a great option. Also, unlike the PDM60 it comes with two always-active connectors if you have some accessory that needs power even when the keyswitch is off. You can do that with the PDM60, of course, but the PDM60 itself will then draw a tiny amount of power 24/7.

Grounding is also easy to solve with that - it comes with screw terminals you can just connect the negative wires to, nice and neat.

Oh - I like it too. If I ever get around to rewiring my 1979 Guzzi then there is a chance it may get motogadgeted.
But ............. one never finds the time, plus right now there is no electronics to go "puff" if any fool sets off an EMP.

I suspect that if some fool does set off an EMP there may be other things to worry about as well.
