I have replaced the battery once on my key fob, but it is easy to see when the battery is getting flat because the light is not as bright when you push the button to turn the bike on.
You should just make a point of changing it out annually on your birthday, when the clocks change, etc
- whenever you change your Smoke/CO2 detector batteries in your home - you DO change those out, right folks?
Be interested to see just how long one goes for someone who rides daily, but a year appears to be no problem.

Think I'll start to carry the spare battery at the 9 month point good call!
I just took all the batteries out of our smoke detectors in the house...those things are annoying when they die in the middle of the night! Much quieter this way; besides nobody smokes inside anymore so what's the point

It does get a good response when I wave my hand towards the bike as Obi-Wan Kenobi would, while quietly pressing the button on my belt with the other hand. The Force is strong with the Imperial Cruiser.
