PCV Stupid Questions

Hi All:

I've installed the Ramair filters and and a PCV +AT on my 2013 Roadster. I have loaded Hanso's AFR map into the PCV and enabled the AT on it. I have not done anything else with TuneECU as of yet.

After I connected the the USB from my computer to the PCV, with the ignition on, I sent the map to the PCV, then started it up. Anything else I need to do in this sequence? I haven't seen anything here or in the PCV or AT instructions.

Can I now go ride the thing? Will the AT with AFR map keep me in safe zones with the change in intake, but stock exhaust? I will be making another attempt at intalling the new exhaust shortly, and once installed, will the AT keep the ratios correct?

THanks for any help. This is my first go at all this and, frankly, I feel at once hesitant and retarded about it all.... not wanting to screw anything up.

You don't need the key on to load a map on the PCV. It does need to be on for the Tune ECU to load a map.

Crank the motor with the PCV program on and your computer plugged into the bike. After 30 seconds the light at the bottom should come on. The AT does not work at idle, so you will have to rev the throttle a little for it to show it's working. If the light comes on, you are ready to unplug and ride.

Awesome. Thanks, Steel. I did as you mentioned and the AT light did indeed come on with some throttle.

I took it on the shortest of rides - no space to even give it juice in 1st - and and the check engine light was on, as well as the oil pressure light. Brought her right back in and the oil level was perfect. With a little time riding, I assume the AT will trim up the AFRs such that the engine light goes off?

Just took off the old exhaust and will be making another attempt at the Reband this weekend, this time with more instruction from the good folks here, extra gaskets, and heat resistant silica. Hopefully this story has a happy ending!

The reason I knew about the throttle is because I had to call the helpful folks at PC to see why my AT would not work.
One twist of the throttle, and .

Once you put the Rebands be prepared for a different bike. It will hit the rev limiter before you realize it. It won't die out past 5500 rpms like with the stock exhaust. Hang on!!!

The question is why is the engien ligth on. when you added the auto tune did you install some sort of O2 sensor bypass? if not then you will throw a engien light until you either add the bypass or go in withtune boy or tune ecu and shut the O2 sensor off.

That is indeed the question.

I did install the O2 sensor bypass that came with it. I have not gone in via TuneECU to shut the sensor off.

It's been a while since I installed mine, but if I remember correctly... I don't think you should instal the bypass with the AT. It came with it's own O2 sensor to install

wow. That makes sense. Anyone else with a confirmation on this? I'll re-look at the instructions..... i don't remember reading anything about that with the AT or PCV instructions, but that would certainly stand to reason.

I'm reaching back a bit into foggy memories too, but best I remember there was a plug that came with the unit and plugged into he stock wiring harness where the stock O2 sensor was plugged in. With the PCV software up on you computer and plugged into the PCV you should be able to load a map. If you have installed everything correctly you should get an O2 reading in the PCV software when the bike is running. If you don't then you have a connection issue (several of us did) between the AT and the PCV. There is a little plug that came with your AT that HAS to be plugged in or the thing won't work. I didn't have any CEL issues. I would recommend plugging up TuneECU and figure out what the codes are. If you clear the codes and they come back then you have a problem...if you clear them and they don't come back I would ride it like you stole it.
