Passed machinery .. WA rego'd

Ahhhh, the good old days. I was born in Florida, and lived here all my 65 years, cept for the 3 that my Uncle Sam took care of. Way way back, we used to have "inspection stickers". At first, you could get them at authorized service stations. Grease the palm of the owner of the station, and you got your sticker then and there. Pay regular price, and get the lights, horn, signals and wipers checked. Some "A" holes would actually make you do a slow lock-up of the brakes, to see if all 4 wheels skidded on the pavement. Then, it got all gobment controlled, at least in Dade county. Dedicated inspection stations, long lines, Real brake machines, and a sniffer up the tail pipe. I can't remember when, but they finally realized it was costing way too much to justify, so no mo. Kinda the advent of "no fault insurance" or my favorite, "uninsured motorist coverage". That way when the jerk with a junker and no brakes crashes into you, you not only have insurance for yourself, but for him too! Unbelievable, but true!
 


same in Arizona was a big rip off and the people screamed till it went away.. now no inspection.
we have an emission test. in phoenix they test bikes, so the abate group is fighting it to get rid of the test on bikes and also get rid of the 15% ethanol in the gas.
 
Surprisingly, in the Great Fascist State of New Jersey, they did away with motorcycle inspections altogether about 3 years ago due to Budget cutbacks. You still have to mind your dBs around the more anal retentive of our peace officers, though and smoky exhausts will find you pulled over and ticketed even more readily than a loud set of pipes.
 
No longer need to emissions bikes in Phoenix.

The tests make no sense even for cars. My old truck (4x4 with full time) just gets tested at idle, one of my cars gets tested on the rollers, my newer car they just hook up to the OBDII connector and download data, my new truck won't get tested for 2 more years.
 
Wait till next year I hope he hasn't got a good memory
 

Ahhhh, like I said, "the good old days" a few H2's chambered, no baffles, R350 Yamaha...... lot's of smoke, and even more noise! Ever heard a Honda valkyrie with six straight pipes? AWSOME!
 
Im just wondering if fibreglass insulation batts would of worked ??
 
Stainless steel pot scrubbers held in with crinkled chicken wire. Need to be put in just round the corner, they burn out pretty quick.....

Hanso.... maybe still no annual checks in Sandgroperland???????

the Valkyrie with 6 straight pipes does indeed sound Awesome, a few years ago at one of the Ulysses AGMs a couple of guys had bought with them a set of straight pipes (each) and changed over to them for the Grand Parade, they fairly turned a few heads, not sure if the Victorian Traffic Cops admired them as much as the rest of us as they looked Good too
 

I agree strongly in regards to pinching the smokers.
