Sorry it's an old thread and an oil thread - but being in the uk you cannot get Mobil 1 full sync 10w 40 believe me you can't ? What do you uk boys use and tails what did you go with ? Thanks .
I've read here, that people that tare down these engines, see less ware with motul 300 15-50. I've used it my last two changes, holds up well and no issues.

You can get the Mobil 1 full sync 15w/50 on ebay and halfords. I am using motul 300v 15w 50 at the moment which has made gear changes smoother and you can get it in 10w 40 as well. They also do a motul 7100 10w/40 and 15w 50 great oils as they are racing oils but the 300v not recommended to last as long. I do less than 5,000 miles a year on the rocket and oil change every 8 to 10 months as i have other bikes for day today use
Hi bigprop I was aware of the 15 /50 but in our climate is that OK? I have looked on opie oils that have a good selection of oils may go motul 7100 or castrol power 1 racing. FTL40 it may be a bit cold here for 20w/50 thanks for your input the only way I can get mobil fully sync 10w/40 here is shipped from the states so a no go
its all good...I've used Amsoil for my last three bikes...it lasts for bloody ages, makes everything real quiet and smooths out the gear changes. I use Amsoil oil filter too which is reputably one of the best filters on this planet...Did an oil change on my Roadster at 500kms from new to Amsoil and again at just shy of 10000kms. Didnt need to cos it was real clean, Did it for peace of mind...new motor and all that.
I run 10w 40 in mine.
