I suspected they wouldn't fix it- thanks for updating us. What did they say it was exactly that involved completely disassembling the engine?
I'm sorry you didn't give a 15 minute go at finding the leak yourself and, if the cause (most likely), replacing those o-rings. As far as being screwed? There's no way a dealer would be able to tell if you removed those bolts and swapped o'rings, especially an incompetent one like you were obviously dealing with. It would have been worth a try. Then, you might still have a Rocket but, sadly, no Fat Boy.
