Oil Change - To Jack or Not to Jack...

atomsplitter, i'm guessing that my rocket III classic will fit on my handy lift then? i haven't tried it yet, but it lifts my harley streetglide just fine.

Yup. You can vise the tire to hold the bike level and get a good drain. I use a standard auto oil drain pan and just move it from drain to drain and then finish with the filter. That way I have an easy way to get the oil pan out from under the bike and she's ready to be filled back up.

Remember to add most of the oil, start it, let it run a minute or two, shut it down then recheck the level. You should be good to go.;)

What rainman said. A piece of 2X4 under the side stand. When the oil is done draining from all three holes, we straddle the Beast and gently move it from side to side a bit. Seems to work. We trudge on.
