I have just been surfing an R3 owners thread on fb and there's talk of Triumph finishing the whole r3 line. Anybody else heard these horrifying rumours.

Most of us are too old for fb, but looking on the bright side ours will be worth heaps more like Aussie Ford GT Falcons

As the bike is not a huge seller It boggles my mind it has lasted so long, as for the bikes being worth more you cannot give them away just now maybe when we are dust you might be able to get your money back.

I'll take one of yours off your hands for nix just keep it until I pop over to collect, being a relative, I might even let you claim it back after I've toured the US .;):D

In the surrounding Chicago area the R3 has caught on now that guys are getting back to work there aren't any leftover roadsters anymore, R3t still sells slow tho'.

Dodge just ended production of the Viper, so anything's possible. I think one indicator may be that the R3 motor has not had any significant upgrades since its introduction. I can't think of any other production models that haven't had any upgrades over a 10 year span. It would be nice to see them keep it around as a halo model, upgrade the engine, offer a real, full faired, all options Touring model along with the Standard and an aggressively designed Roadster directly targeting the Diavel and VMax. But, that would take a big financial commitment. Not sure Triumph would see the ROI.

I did hear that it has something to do with the new euro 4 emissions this year...Motorcycle news reported that suzuki will stop production of certain modles this year along with other manufacturers.

Not sure it applies to all Kawasaki models but Kawasaki went to the EU emission standards on the 2016 ZX-14 which resulted in a loss of 10hp. Fortunately the tri-catalytic system they installed has 1 cat in each mid-pipe and 2 cats in each muffler. I installed 2 Brothers carbon-fiber dual exhausts on my new 2016 Zx-14. Probably got back most of the 10hp and saved about 25 pounds versus the dual cannons that came on it.
