Yes, I know this goes against the idea that noisy is good ( an ethic which is ok, noise tells people that you are coming, bit of a self preservation thing ) but I have the people I live around and the wife who feeds me and the grand kids who I could wake up when I am off the work at 4:30 in the morning to think about. I had a rocket that was quit muted and aceptable and pleased most, I now have a crackle box I got it with out hearing it Not tat it would of stopped me getting it (price was right). Looked under neath and found that some one had removed the cat box and fitted the triumph cat remove pipes. Question. If I refitted the cat box will it quieten it down and/or will the silencers have been changed as well and will I have to get it remaped back to origial tune?:sadwavey:

Aren't the TORs Mufflers shorter, and have a larger diameter tube at the rear ?
Also I've been told that most of the Silencing is done by the Cat box ?
When I'm in the workshop today I'll measure the overall length and diameter of my Stock units for you to compare.

I measured the out let of the silencers ond it is about 1 inch and the length is seam the seam 16 inches and these the dimensions of a standard unit.

I measured the out let pipe of the silencers and it is about 1 inch and the length from seam to seam is about 16 inches are these the dimensions of a standard unit?. Sorry about the nearly duplicated post, me and nights and pc and typing do not mentaly fit together.:sadwavey:

Goes against the grain:sadwavey:--But I have found the label that tells me the silncers are tor's. Is there an insert that I can fit into the inlet to mute them a little or do I have to replace them? I will have to save up a bit to buy some. If I refitted the cat would this shut it up a bit and make it more aceptable to the mot man? As it is, it is sitting in my garage looking forlone and dejected.:(

You aught to be able to find a set of standard pipes to have for the MOT test then swap them back if you like the burble.
