No self test.

I went for a 400km ride yesterday and the speedo worked all day? Bike still does not do the self test until the motor is running but only the tacho sweeps and the trip meter resets every time I start the bike, main odometer still retains total Kms???
The only thing I have not done is check the connection under the tank for the gauges and check the connection on the back of the speedo.
