I have a question that's similar to cocobobo. My 05 Rockets idle could not be fixed by the Triumph dealers after 5 months. I bought a new 2014 Rocket Roadster. I swore I would keep it stock so I didn't have to worry about screwing up the idle again and possibly voiding the warranty. The Triumph dealer here (or anywhere in California) will not put an aftermarket exhaust on or remap due to CARP (Cal air resource) new rules. I was on the NewR3.com website and it stated that the exhaust pictured does not need a remap for the Rocket. It says I will gain 12hp without a remap and are much lighter than the OEM exhaust. If I'm going to shell out 1,300.00 I want to be sure this is a bolt on and go exhaust. Any suggestions?

Any suggestions?

yeah, don't do it..is it just the cans?..$1,300 just for the mufflers?..and ya still got those ugly ass stock headers?..don't fall for that..and I don't think you'll gain any hp with those..

Not to be a downer, but,
I don't know if you'll notice 12 HP gain.
I like the Roadsters stock cans.
For $1300 you can go to Vegas/Tahoe and party like you need to with the nice stock ride.

Dead right do not pay that just for end cans, $1300 not a huge amount more for a full system.

I really like the tone of the pipes. I'm trying to do this without a remap. Is that possible? If the dealers were on board I would go back to the TORs as I liked the sound.

It's likely that if you don't need a re-map. that the exhaust aren't flowing much more than stock or else you certainly would need a re-map to keep the correct AFR. There is no free lunch.
I agree that $1300 is "out there" for just the cans! Jardines were that much for the entire system. They look good but I'll wager you don't get those 12 horses.
I don't understand your dealer because the TORS are not aftermarket but Triumph parts.

Because they are sold as "off road only" not street legal in California. The CARP has the dealers shaking in their boots. They indiscriminately fine dealers for this now to set examples.

Interesting.

Hell, Staintunes are $1600 for the mufflers, with a claimed 8 kilo weight savings. For that money I'm sticking with stock for now.
