Just a tip. If the bike isn't moving, always let the clutch out in neutral before going into 1st, including when you first start it. It should then engage with a reassuring 'clunk'. If you don't get that you risk it popping out of gear when you accelerate. Otherwise, engage first while the bike's still moving.
Its a big heavy clunky G/box to cope with the power you'll find as the milage increases it loosens up so don't and get mad en force it..
My 05 is at 34K (kms) and shfts nicely now..enjoy
Well thanks for the wellcome,will try to post a photo ,have a little proble getting in to 1st if i let clutch out a bit it drops in will this get better or is it what r 111 do .terry county of essex,bloody well raining again .
No need to check anything its very common with rockets mate i always let the clutch out a little when going from nuetral to first. some are smoother than others but that is the best way to shift this big gearbox into first and have peace of mind that she is located correctly
Thanks to all on this thread ,after trying what you have all said ,i now have this beast under control ,wheeeeeee its blooby fast ,im 65 thiught i was slowing down ,if i have to go soon this is the way to go .
