New to Triumph-Confirmed

Oh that part of Virginia.

Boog loves to ride, he will happily come farther south where there is REALLY good riding!

Now up/down your way is some great riding. We have been up there a few times and one of my favorite rides is up 42 to New Castle then 615 to Rich Patch and back down the 617 and over to Paint Bank. We do all of that out of Wytheville which is a full day ride from my place. Usually back down 21 and into NC 221-88-421 back to the house and another full day ride. We do at least one three day tour per month during the ridding season.

I'm not sure the R3 would be the bike I was on for those trips as i prefer the comforts and carrying capacity of the Indian Roadmaster for that type of tour.

I see your dilemma if you have a roadster or classic...but I have the R3T...so I get all the storage and can ride it anywhere. That said, some really roomy throw over saddle bags will no doubt be right at home on your one! It has to be said, if my Rocket wears out, and there are no more to be had, an Indian is in the cards for me!

Any bike can be loaded up for weekend touring and mountain basting. But like @rocketjohn says, the R3T does it oh so well and oh so smoothly.

@Boog
Are you a woman????
You pack ALL THAT for a weekend ride?!?!???
I do like your beads, Amigo!

I just googled Tazewell TN. That looks like God's country to me. Ema and I are going to Selma NC next year. We were going to stay over in Knoxville for the night, but the Tazewell Motor Lodge or Dixie Plaza Hotel are looking mighty fine.

Those two motels are small and not exactly luxurious . My wife Sandy just reminded me the Dixie Plaza was shut down due to involvement with drug trafficking. The other is better. Middlesbrough Ky has a few better larger chain hotels and it is only 15 minutes north. Lmk when you are coming and we can go out to dinner and possibly do a day ride with you all.

This area is biker Mecca.

I did not need another tourer or bagger I wanted a pure freaking Rocketship and that’s what I got, perfect.

It’s like this when I need a specific tool I’ll choose it. Don’t take the grand touring car deer hunting, to hard to rinse the blood out of the trunk and the antlers scratch the hood to much. Take the truck.

If I need a fat azz bagger with six speakers I have the Roadmaster Elite, if I just want to scare the chit outta my colon I’ve got a Rocket.

Are you like all these northern dentists that only work 4 days a week and take Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off?

Would love to take a day and get a guided tour. We always travel with a loose schedule when on the bike.
