tropic--stepper motors control butterflies in t.b.'s. 2 of them. one between #1 and #2 controls secondary butterflies. one on end is primary and controls bottom butterflies. (fancy choke). --john
Thanks john l.!
Maybe the stepper motors will fix it. I hope so. I manually turned the idle up to about 1100 to keep it from stalling. That was just to ride it enough to assess the Valk bars. Once it got up to temp the idle fluctuated up to 1800, down to 1400, back up to 1800, down to 800, sometimes 1000 or 1100, then back up to 1800. All the while popping & snorting with a bad surge at anything short of hard accelleration. Rode it to work one day last week, got so bad that I parked it in the garage and the Valkyrie is the main ride again. Screw it, it'll come back out when Adam from Daytona Triumph calls to say the stepper motor is in & then STRAIGHT to the shop. It's nearly unrideable as is.
Makes you wish for carburetors!!!
I just had my 06 Classic in for oil change and the map was installed. Mechanic advised that it was for the idle problem and that RPM's were increased as part of the cure.
