Welcome from the twisties of western NC. Not sure what kind of tips and tricks you're after, but it's all here. First things that come to mind are to install the Penner Tune (way more responsive, unlocked) and don't be fixated on replacing tires with stock that are nearly impossible to get. The Exedra Max on the rear is highly recommended and will change the rake for a more agile ride. Enjoy! You won't look back. Include your location- not sure why people are so shy about that. We already have a Rocket and won't come looking for yours ;-)

Fixed it. 30 years after putting a gsxr 750 away and looking at every VMAX I saw and waiting to pull the trigger. The rocket 3 is what I wanted the vmax to be so far. Motorcycles have come a long way and I could not be happier.
 
Gidday mate, welcome to the forum. I'm from a background of GSX1400, (never released in USA) brilliant machine, just no longer comfortable for me, the R3GT suits the ole bod perfect. +1 for the Penner Tune & de-restrict, I've got that also, 100% worth it that mod.
 
Welcome, I used to have a GSX1400 as well, probably the best looking bike ever made,...
Anyway, agree with all here, the Penner tune, and I'd also add a DNA air filter - that seems to have made quite a difference for me with 30% more air (in all modes).
