New R3R owner in SoCal

OW-DO , from S/W/ England, Al. Be prepared ta wear a silly grin from now on--Rockets have that effect:)

Two new babies in just over a year? You are either one brave dude.

Another big welcome to the site from New Jersey, Captain alpental.

Like the others said, break Angela in slow and easy or she just might break you!;)
Take your time getting familiar with her performance envelope, practice slow speed maneuvering and braking in a large, empty parking lot and remember; It ain't about how fast you can go, it's about how fast you can safely stop.

Another Aussie welcome mate
Double double animal style is a reference to California burger chain In N Out. Double cheeseburger with the patties grilled in mustard, grilled onions, and the rest (as opposed to plain grilled, raw onions). I guess it's a SoCal thing. Didn't know there were so many Aussies on here!

See there late at night only the Mates are up!
Welcome to this awesome forum from up north of you in WA.
Angela is indeed a beauty = your wife may have been clairvoyant.
Me thinks you likely may spend more time astride Angela than her.
Born and raised in Seattle, just moved down here 3 years ago. Didn't realize how much I'd miss the food in Seattle.

Thanks for the welcome and advice. I know it's a big bike, and the sales mgr tried to talk me out of it, but I'm big enough to move it around and old enough to not try something too stupid. Spent half an hour doing figure 8s, emergency stops, etc. in the beach parking lot (watch out for sand) before venturing out on the road. I don't know that I've even opened the throttle up half way yet. Got caught in some unexpected rain and crosswinds today on the freeway, but made it home safely. We'll see how commuting goes tomorrow.
My wife's family is from Jersey and I make fun of her for saying "worter" instead of water, and "corrfee" instead of coffee. :D

Welcome... Im just over the bridge in Pedro if you want to get to get together for a ride...

Definitely. I'll keep an eye out for you around here, and maybe we can plan a short daytrip to Pizza Port in San Clemente, or Malibu Seafood and a canyon run, with some other area riders.

Hello Al and Angela and welcome from VA.

Apologies up front Al for stealing your thunder about your choice in burger.

For those not in the know, In-n-Out is a burger joint, (Maybe the best) but is only located west of the Rockies here in the US. A double double is their signature buger. Rumer has it they have a secret menu that only employees and those of us in the know are aware of. Since you are all my brothers and sisters, I will share:
Animals Style:
Burger of your choice with hand-leafed lettuce, tomato, a mustard cooked beef patty; add pickle, extra spread with grilled onions.

You can find more non-menu selctions here: http://www.in-n-out.com/menu/not-so-secret-menu.aspx

Enjoy
Your Killing ME!:banghead::banghead::banghead: I haven't had one in 9 years and still remember the Flavors. God how I miss it. :(:(:(

Oh sorry for neglecting the welcome but the talk of Double double animal style sent me over the edge:cool: Oh ya, Welcome from Georgia.
