New R3 in Cedar Rapids, IA

Cedar Rapids movie

I thought the movie was pretty funny. It could have taken place anywhere in the midwest. People are pretty nice around here. Not too many prostitutes hanging out at the hotels though.
We went through a really bad flood back in 2008 and the movie treated that well.
They couldn't classify it because it was off the charts, but one of the assessors from the Army Corps of Engineers told me it was probably close to a 1500 year flood. The Cedar River was flowing more water than the Mississippi. 1300 city blocks were under water. Some parts of town still look like a war zone. It will take years to recover. There wasn't any looting during the flood so it can't be too bad a place to live - right?

Yet another Aussie welcome; from the best state of course that's Queensland the rest of the country is attached to us, so we can share the good weather with them lol

Lil' Bro Pat brought his 1998 Yamaha 1100 Virago over for some work this past weekend. That's another chapter for book 2. His only requirement was, "don't crash this one, it's the last one I have." Takes all the intrigue out of it.

My house not blown away or flooded, but I did get stuck at the bloody border for 4 days because NSW roads went under, finally got to Ipswich and stuck another 4 days. Bright side provided accommodation and travel receipts and got reimbursed from K Rudd.
