This may have been done before but I'm looking to upgrade the mufflers and I've narrowed down it to the Triumph or D&D. Any comments would be welcomed.

I prefer the TOR's over D&D's ... had them both and the D&D's leave the left side of the bike naked and I thought they sounded too much like a Cessna airplane. The TOR's sound really good and look like the stock pipes that originally drew me toward the R3.
On D&D's side of the coin, they do cut down on alot of weight and look great from the right side. They are also pretty easy to pull the baffles out of should you want really loud pipes.

Thanks Hellfire, I'm leaning more towards the TOR's. Does Triumph make a factory CAT bypass?

Since this is in the Touring forum, I'm assuming you have an R3T.

I have the D&Ds and they are direct replacements for the stock pipes, one on each side. The cats are in the muffler housings on the R3T so either the TORS or the D&Ds will eliminate the cats.

I just bought a full Jardine system, it was delivered today. Nothing wrong with the D&Ds, I just want to see if I can wring a bit more power out her.

Great information, thanks and yes I have theR3T. Are the D&D pipes louder than the TORS or just different?

I haven't heard the TORS so I can't comment on how they compare. The D&Ds on the R3T don't seem as loud as the D&Ds on the Standard/Classic. Not sure if its a different design or maybe they just seem quieter because the saddlebags help mask the sound.

Slabs, get the Jardines for the money your get more HP and more torque and they sound really good and its a full system and the headers look sweet.
I got mine used for $500.00 including shipping and they looked brand new.

The Demo I rode had TORs and I thought they were the stock pipes it was so quiet. I thought about Jardines, but decided against them. Went with the D&D and coulndn't be happier. Nice rumble, not too loud cruising, but a nice bark when you get on it. Not nearly as loud as my buddies Fat Boy with a D&D installed. Add tripple K&Ns with a TuneBoy and WATCH OUT! Transforms the bike.
