New family member

Good unto those that respect hapless critters

Micro chip? explanation requested!!
RFID tag under the skin between the shoulder blades, if the dog get picked up by the pound they scan for owner information and give you a call. All our dogs got it since it was required when we adopted them.

Good on you for saving a puppies life! The wife and I are dog people and we love ours to death. Enjoy your new best friend

1BigDog,
Anyone using a pix of their dogs for an avatar is a definite major dog lover in my book.
As you can see by my avatar, I am not in your league as I love my motors just a little more.

Im not in any league. I just love my dogs and from the looks of things here many of you do too. Now, keep in mind that your motor does bark rather loudly as well.....

Here's another:

Just because you don't have a dog doesn't mean there's something wrong with you; but there may be something wrong with your life.

Congrats on the new dog TC, I have put off getting anoher dog for some years now cos after my last dog it would have big shoes to fill but sooner rather than later that will change, for the record all my dogs have been rescued

Lupe,
You can put a chip under the skin of your pet that can be tracked in case of loss or theft.

TC,
Love the brindle on the new family member.
A handsome lad indeed!
The other man - not so much.

Sorry I assumed Micro Chipping of cats and doge would be a Universal procedure , in Australia before you can register a cat or dog with the Local Authorities (Council) you must take the animal to a Micro chipping facility Vet or the local pound where they insert a small micro chip under the skin at the back of the neck of the pet , this procedure is supposed to be painless but my little fellow let out a fair howl when it was done 'this chip contains an individual code that can be read on a scanner allowing the reader to contact the owner if the dog is found alive or sadly dead ,the chip lasts the life of the animal and after the initial reaction Tango has never shown any discomfort ,in our Shire( Wyong) the dog registration is a one off fee for life of the dog or cat , the system is Australia wide so if he is lost interstate we hopefully get him back,

Today went well. Catherine able to be there when the two dogs met for the first time ( Manson face-planted jumping out of the ute ..***cin dill) .. few snarls and a bit of agro but the two dogs were in the back of the ute together within two hours.. miracle as Kobi is quite an aggressive and possessive dog. We were stoked with outcome.

Sounds like you got a dog that makes you laugh too! Brilliant.
