Getting ready for nice weather and just ordered a clearview shield, 23 inches with recurve and vent. I also ordered a Corbin Dual Tour seat. Little bit of a special order with no welts, red stitching, studs, and no flaps for the backrests. I've had Corbin seats before and found that I rarely ever used the backrest, and I already installed the Triumph backrest for my wife. Should be here in about 3-5 weeks.

I also have set of Wild One bagger bars leftover from my last e-glide that I'm thinking of trying on the R3R. After measuring everything, it looks like they should fit without a problem. They are about the same width, have about two inches more rise and about an inch more pull back compared to the stock bars, and a better grip angle. I'll be replacing the grips within the next couple weeks and think I'll give them a try.

Sure hope it warms up soon.

Gary,

I installed a Duel Tour on my 2014 R3R about a month ago, and had to do a little tweaking to get it to fit right. It rocked back and forth from front to back so I had to remove one of the bumpers on the bottom of the seat to get it to sit flat..Also, I had to elongate the holes in the mounting brackets to get the bolt to go through to the fender mounted bracket...I spoke to Corbin about these issues...That being said, it is a great seat and I hope you're s fits perfect...Maybe i just got a bad one......Good luck...Larry

Thanks for the heads up Larry.
I don't mind doing a little tweaking, though it can be frustrating when you pay so much for a product that doesn't fit right. Sure am anxious for it to get here. It's finally starting to warm up.

I'll post some pics and a review when I get it installed.

i'm 5'7" and i sit in the middle of the factory seat. I am ordering a new seat(mostly for the misses) but while i'm at it might as well get one that fits me too. I'm not deliberatly hijacking your thread just want to ask, in your experience with corbin are they just higher end factory seats or fully custom for the riders like russel day long? tks

I am 6'2 and have had great experience with Corbin on my previous bikes. Haven't got the seat for the rocket yet. Corbins are a little lower and make it feel like your sitting more in the bike than on it, but their seats are very firm which works great for most. I ordered mine with several custom changes such as no welting, no backrest mounts and a little extra padding at the back of the seat rise. I'd recommend calling corbin about options. They're great to talk to and I'm sure wouldn't mind the call. I've heard good things about Russel day long as well.

I didn't care for my Corbin dual touring. It's a pretty hard seat. Mine was very smooth and I slid back and forth. This was my fault. They offer stitching patterns which provide relief on the seat. You can get them to customize like moving the seat back or forth an inch. The Russells look like the only thing comparable to those big plush Harley seats.

Finally got my Corbin Saturday. The first thing I noticed is the great craftsmanship along with the caerful packaging. Beautiful seat and beautiful day. I wanted to ride, so I excitedly headed to the garage to install it. Opened the instructions, but they were totally illegible. No big deal. Went online and printed fresh instructions from the corbin site. Ok, a few hours, a little cussing, and a half can of Copenhagen later, its on. I ended up having to loosen the front tank fastener so it could move forward; only needed about 1/16". Also had to elongate the hole for the right hold-down bracket.
Quite the PIA.

Was it worth the cost and the headache? YES!
The seat looks fantastic, the red stitching is really subtle but looks great with the red stripes, and what an incredible improvement in comfort. I put a couple hundred miles on the beast today and did it in complete comfort. The seat has great support and kind of cradles the tail-bone area. It also seems to have moved me foreword a bit so I don't have to double over my belly to reach the bars.

I've decided to leave the bars alone for now and am still waiting on the windshield. I'll upload some pics after the shield is installed.

How about a pic Gary?
where did you get the seat from, at what price?

Hi Koos.

I bought the seat directly from Corbin at their advertised price - around 550 plus shipping. Go to corbin.com

I'm working nights, 12hrs shifts, this week, but should be able to get some pics uploaded next weekend.

Corbin's are great seats and I love mine, but they are a wider bucket too (depending on the model you get; mine's the gunslinger solo). I say this only because, while the seat is the same height, the width displacement results in about a half inch difference in foot on ground height. Something to think about for us "not as tall" guys (I'm 5'9").
