I saw those Avons on Lonnie's Blackie and had to have one. My next front will be a cobra. Will take a look at his set at the get together. Never lit the Metz up on a roll too scared it'd go flat:(

The darkside was always a concern for the Valk owners because of the long life the tire gives you, in most cases twice as long as a motorcycle tire. Reason being is the rear spline lube that is done with each tire change, anyone running a darkside on here have any problems with their splines getting dry with having the darkside tire on for 20k miles? Just curious

Avon vs Metz

Yep, I have the Avons and they are holding up very well.. :) I have about 7,000 miles on them now and they have not squared off near as much as the Metzelers have at this point.
I believe Lonzol has Avons on "Blackie" as well. I like them enough that I actually sent an e-mail to Avon and they posted it on their testimonials page with a picture of my bike from RAA III taken by Gunshots.. Avon 2008

I'm on my third set of Metzelers ... averaging about 8700 miles on the rear & 11000 on the front.

If you were getting 5K on the rear, perhaps I could get 15K from the Avon.
