Yep, it is official, my wife and I now own a spankin' new 2014 cranberry/black R3T. We picked her up with 5 miles (after all any good women has to have a few miles to be interesting) and have been playing ever sense. No, the car is not ours, just a nice backdrop in the McDonald's parking lot on the cruise home.

All the great response posts we got were the reason why we went ahead with the purchase. You guys are a great group. The decision between the R3R and R3T was not easy, but with two up and my wife to immediately please, I hit the easy button and went with the R3T. In regards to the power, I will undoubtedly do the pipe, remap and air filter in short order.

But first....I need to fix the problem that causes my butt bone to ache after 100 miles. Yes, I know I am a weasel and not going to win any iron butt competitions. We had to replace the seat on the FJR due to Yamaha's use of margin single stage foam for OEM. Is this the same issue? I also like the idea of lower back support. I have never had a bike win insertable brace/support. Any pro's and con's? What brands have you guys found to be the best from the aftermarket selections? I am in Central California, any custom seat builders that I look into?

Again, thanks to everybody for all their great input. We are now officially a part of the Rocket fan club and this great forum.

Welcome from the Lone Star State! Congratulations on your purchase I own a rocket roadster so I'm going to leave the comments to the guys that actually have experience with touring model to help you with your seat. I will comment on one thing that's a beautiful bike you have there and again congratulations.

Welcome to the family!

Now that's a nice rocket :) As you can see by my picture and choice, I'm not biased or anything...at all..nope ;)

I've basically always used Corbin custom saddles on my bikes(though I haven't put one on my R3T yet, I'm doing O.K with stock for now) and since the first one have been hooked on them (they make em for Rockets as well). Another option that a lot of folks swear by are the Russel day long saddles (they are out in Shasta Ca).

Enjoy the ride man, it just gets better every day.

Congrats, nice bike.

Russel Day Long makes a good seat, But you might want to try a sheepskin cover first. Not expensive, but very good. These blokes make good stuff. http://alaskaleather.com/

Congrats on the purchase, and welcome from southern California!
You'll find a lot of recommendations on seats but a lot of people swear by Corbin. Corbin's factory is in Hollister, which I imagine isn't too far of a drive for you. You should check out their stuff here http://corbin.com/triumph/rocket.shtml then go for a visit!

Welcome from Mississippi and congratulations! Beautiful bike. As mentioned, Corbin (I own 2), Russell day long, I believe mustang seats are an option, triumph makes a comfort seat (at least I think they still do), and of course there's always the option of pulling your leather off and putting in better padding or gel yourself.

Welcome Those touring Roadster sure are good looking. Very Nice. Love the color combo. My Interstate was black & Red but your is much better looking.
