Neutral light and side stand safety switch faults

I have rocket 3 which I bought new in 2007.The 9 years I've owned it its been pretty much trouble free until a few months ago when out riding the neutral light started flickering and stayed on It only seems to be a problem when the bike is warmed up, it is fine from cold. After 5-10 miles it starts to play up again. I replaced the gear position sensor switch, which I brought new from Thiumph but I still have the same problem. I have also noticed the side stand safety switch is not working .The bike starts ok but the engine does not cut out when selecting a gear with stand down .Just wondering if the two things are connected. I have lifted the tank and checked all wiring and connections and every thing looks fine. Has anyone else had the same problem? Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

IF THE NEUTRAL SWITCH IS SHORTED TO GROUND THEN WHEN U PUT THE STAND DOWN THE ECU THINKS IT IS IN NEUTRAL AND WILL NOT KILL ENGINE. sorry caps
the way i would check is when it has problem i would disconnect the neutral switch connector and see if the light stays on if it does then u have a wire shorted to ground. when its cold try putting in gear to see if the engine turns off.

I disconnected the gear position sensor switch,turned ignition on,neutral light came on with the the other warning lights when needles sweep across the clocks then went out.Started bike no neutral light put it in gear with side stand down engine does not turn off.

I was hoping to find someone on here who has had the same problem so I can fix it myself rather than having the inconvenience of taking into the main dealer.

i have not heard of a problem like this. that does not mean that i can not help u.
i think that the stand switch is either stuck or bad i would replace it to see if that fixes the stand problem then deal with neutral light problem
from what u are telling me i think u have two problems. hth
