Nabiac Accommodation ?

just another snippet of info I am soon to start a thread on RDU 2013- Batemans Bay in September before the tourist season starts the weather is usally good at this time as well. I have already plotted out a couple of all day rides which if weather turns foul can be shortened one South on the Saturday taking some mighty fine coastal road down to Tathra with the possibility of extend it some distance taking Bombala and the Brown Mtn pass and a one longer one on Sunday that goes West up the Clyde Mtn then North and of course back east and south incorporating some of the finest twistys (Kangaroo Valley) approx 500 km round trip but has exist point along the way for those heading home up north on the Sunday but I reckon you will all want to allow for a Monday departure at the earliest,
As soon as the silly season finishes here in a month I will have more info... :D

I'm wondering if the guys who have traveled around 1,000km or more to get to the Bay would really want to spend the next 2 days riding. I know when I got to Hervey Bay that was the last thing on my mind. There's no doubting you have some amazing roads down that way and I fully understand your wanting to show them off but maybe there's another way to do it. What about if you work out some routes into and out of the Bay for guys to take depending on which direction they're coming from, giving tips on what's quickest, most scenic, best twisties, that sort of thing.

Once we're all there, isn't it better to spend time talking, looking at our bikes and just relaxing a little? A short run up to Bermagui pub for lunch, say (100km each way), would be the sort of outing that could work.

Anyway, just a thought. Happy to work with you on this mate.

I agree , did a few long rides with the Boulevard boys and some would like to do a days riding once there . Depending on how far you have come this can be a drag as you know how far it is back home. We use to do a State of Origin ride in each state and very often get 30 to 40 riders was good fun to meet others and look at what they do to their bikes. ;)

I can't believe it you guy whined about Marty's show and Shine standing around All day as was said and now I am just throwing a few Ideas around to see what interest there would be and I cop this crap well guess what if you Know me and I would like to think you do by now Richard I have a multitude of ideas that will be brought forward between now and then one of them was for you to volunteer ,...yes you are and that is an order;) volunteering to help by meeting either the guys from south or the from north and leading them the last day into the bay and I would do the same from the opposite direction but as I said it is all just ideas for now.
there are also others here that I am sure will be willing to help, personally I (even thu I was forced) was happy to have the day sitting around relaxing on the Saturday at Hervey Bay and had not been for my discomfort (and painkiller induced ) state would have gotten to know a lot more guys better than I did. While the ride I previously mentioned for the Saturday has many optional diversions to either lengthen or shorten it while still taking some of this areas multitude vista's.
the Sunday ride was more designed for the guys who have the longest trip home to leave on the Sunday and taking in some of the best roads north with them stay just the other side of Sydney for their return trip, the guys heading south could go via coast or head inland to Canberra and the and turn south down the the Hume boreadrome either way here to Melbourne is an easy one day ride.
I will leave to rest of my multitude oif ideas once we decide on the actual Dates which really should be our first priority Early to Mid September would probably be best as it is before the local van parks get busy at the beginning of October I have actually started talking top a Big4 van park just out of town and they were very interested and have the facilities we would need.
but enough about that lets get back to Nabiac are we agreeing with my idea of the Karuah jetty van park which would give everybody the option of either taking the short 1hr direct route or the Interesting twisty 2 hr ride via Gloucester taking in the Bucket Way, We need to decide this first and get this one done and dusted then you, you old fart Richard and I will nut out RDU 2013 Batemans Bay

Start a new thread for RDU 2013 ;)
and even if there is a ride planned peeps remember everything is optional just because there is a ride doesnt mean u have to do it . No one has to do anything and everyone can do everything just have fun is all there is no need for tight schedules and we are doing this then and that now just show up have a few bevies a laugh a feed look at and talk bikes with the OPTION of a ride for those that want to go "I RARLEY PARTICIPATE ON THESE AS THE RIDE IS GETTING THERE AND BACK IMO AND ITS RELAXATION ONCE THERE".
sometimes these events can be over done and turn from fun to a cluster****

isn't funny these were much the same points I raised when people were talking about abandoning the S/Shine to go for a ride instead
As I said some post back in Post #20 I said I would. I was trying to keep this one going so we might get some response but kept Nabiac as the main topic of my post till Richard decide to put in his two bob but that is alright cos he will be put to Work later;)

Settle petal. The issue with the show and shine wasn't that we weren't riding, it was that we were told to be at a certain place for a certain amount of time. A school oval no less. As it happens it turned out OK. OK.

If chaps want to ride, they should ride. If chaps want to sit by a river, have a few beers and a yarn, they should join me by the river. ;)

I like the idea of meeting people part way and was going to suggest it myself. Problem is I'd like to go North AND South.

Hardly think anyone was giving you crap and I'm more than happy to help. None of these get togethers should be "owned" by any one individual.

You're a funny bugger Hanso. We really do need an 'exasperated' smilie.
My fault for responding but who was it again who brought up Bateman's Bay in the Nabiac thread? ;)
