just another snippet of info I am soon to start a thread on RDU 2013- Batemans Bay in September before the tourist season starts the weather is usally good at this time as well. I have already plotted out a couple of all day rides which if weather turns foul can be shortened one South on the Saturday taking some mighty fine coastal road down to Tathra with the possibility of extend it some distance taking Bombala and the Brown Mtn pass and a one longer one on Sunday that goes West up the Clyde Mtn then North and of course back east and south incorporating some of the finest twistys (Kangaroo Valley) approx 500 km round trip but has exist point along the way for those heading home up north on the Sunday but I reckon you will all want to allow for a Monday departure at the earliest,
As soon as the silly season finishes here in a month I will have more info...![]()
I'm wondering if the guys who have traveled around 1,000km or more to get to the Bay would really want to spend the next 2 days riding. I know when I got to Hervey Bay that was the last thing on my mind. There's no doubting you have some amazing roads down that way and I fully understand your wanting to show them off but maybe there's another way to do it. What about if you work out some routes into and out of the Bay for guys to take depending on which direction they're coming from, giving tips on what's quickest, most scenic, best twisties, that sort of thing.
Once we're all there, isn't it better to spend time talking, looking at our bikes and just relaxing a little? A short run up to Bermagui pub for lunch, say (100km each way), would be the sort of outing that could work.
Anyway, just a thought. Happy to work with you on this mate.
