Nabiac Accommodation ?

Appreciate your efforts Hanso. I'm happy to camp; on a river sounds good to me but it sounds like we're going to need a camping ground near some more civilised digs. I rang the museum a couple of weeks back to see if they could suggest anything but got nowhere. Don't reckon we have to be all that close to the museum - couple of hours ride wouldn't hurt, stop for breakfast on the way.

nabiac has a good pub with accom

I stayed in the pub 400 meters from the museum on a trip from gold coast back to vic in 2010. think it was about $50 FOR A DOUBLE. good meals and cold beer.not much esle there, although the bakery opened early for a good pie selection. To memory it was July/August.

pub /motel

forgot to say the pub was not an old country style, rather a new ish thing and the rooms were next door . The run up thru the new England range with good company would be brilliant, the coast rd with its 80 k speed limits for miles and camera take s a lot of patients or spare licences.

yeah the only accomadtion left unbooked at pub was $200+ a night... no thanks oh and for $320 you could get a room with a spa

All I can F##kin say is make up ya friggin minds It started out that we were going to meet and stay near Nabiac so We could see the Bike museum with no fuss or shows etc, we will be doing plenty of riding to just get there plus it will be double demerit points weekend Ann and I will be coming up there on the Friday it will be 7 +hours riding and some will be coming a lot further. the Sat was meant be looking at the museum and I believe it has heaps in it and can take most of the day, we probably be heading back on Sunday or maybe Monday depend on how we feel, weather etc .

Who the hell know's

A hanso look's like you had better take some extra nappies look's like you will be changing a few when you findly get there :D:bch:

yes Hanso that was the thought originally.
There is not much in the area but would be a better selection if we stayed a bit further south. A 2 hour ride to the museum is no drama, makes for a good day out.
The only problem we will have is that it's Easter weekend and vacancies may be few and far between.
If it becomes a problem I think as long as we are all staying close and know where everyone is we can have a meeting point for socialising and to regroup for the start of a ride.

further south which is still only an hours ride unless we were to detour out via Glouester which would make it a more interesting ride as there is some twisty bits out there "the Buckets way" and aprox 2 hr ride.
the parks website - Accommodation Karuah - Karuah Jetty Holiday Park - port stephens the caravan park is a big4 and appears to have good facilitys and prices are reasonable, Karuah was bypassed several years ago so is quiet little town on the backwaters of Port Stephens. if you go any further south you would need to be inland at Raymond Terrrace or Newcastle... no thanks!!

Oh and there is even kids playground for Wipper Sniper and Wipper Snaper or any other Big Kids :D

just another snippet of info I am soon to start a thread on RDU 2013- Batemans Bay in September before the tourist season starts the weather is usally good at this time as well. I have already plotted out a couple of all day rides which if weather turns foul can be shortened one South on the Saturday taking some mighty fine coastal road down to Tathra with the possibility of extend it some distance taking Bombala and the Brown Mtn pass and a one longer one on Sunday that goes West up the Clyde Mtn then North and of course back east and south incorporating some of the finest twistys (Kangaroo Valley) approx 500 km round trip but has exist point along the way for those heading home up north on the Sunday but I reckon you will all want to allow for a Monday departure at the earliest,
As soon as the silly season finishes here in a month I will have more info... :D
