My Roadster is dirty and bits fell off!

After reading, I went out to the bike and checked my smoked lens cover's on the turn signals and found that the right rear signal cover was loose. THANKS:):):):)

It was my RHS that fell out too.
When I was fitting my clear lenses (the RHS one of which fell off) I noticed that the fixing screws were different on both rear blinkers and assumed the previous owner had lost and scrounged different ones. I was also (maybe too) careful of not over-tightening the screws as I tend to be a bolt shearer and have cracked plastic blinker lens in the past. Maybe a dab of Loctite thread glue would be the best idea.

The identical 2nd hand Bonneville unit I bought yesterday also had different screws each side of the lens. The inner one was a long fine threaded flat tipped version and the outer was a shorter coarse thread tapered screw tip one. When refitting the lens I found that they may have been original as the shorter coarse threaded one would not engage the inside body hole.

What did you find with your screws @sonny ? And can anyone else chime in on the screws in their blinkers. I can see how using the wrong screws could increase the chance of them falling out.

Yes, they are ALL that way - the screws screw into two different type receptacles, fine thread one screws into the retaining post in the main housing,or the inner bank & the course thread screws directly into the inner housing receptacle, or outer bank - if you use locktite, make sure it's blue & not red ;)

Is that cement put on any particular type of surface and why? I have heard of it used for oil spills here in Oz especially racetracks, but not for other purposes.

What is your single exhaust is it one of Viking Exhausts from our esteemed forum member?

Sorry seemed to have missed your reply, yes this is a Viking exhaust, nice pipe it is too.

Over here they dump loads of cement mixed with gravel on the road, let everyone drive over it and this provides a base for the tarseal and more gravel. It doesn't work and the roads fall to bits but they keep doing it. They say its a design to hold the roads together with our extreme weather conditions, I think its because its cheap. I've been to the US a few times and driven round, they have extreme weather conditions (so do you guys) there roads are much nicer. The worse bit is they rely on the public's vehicles to compact it and simply put up a sign saying "cement splashes wash your car today" I've got concrete on my vehicles that aint coming off. That pic was the top of my bike you should have seen underneath....:mad::mad::mad:
