Moving up from Kawi 900 custom

Another G'day and welcome from Downunder.

While I agree with what the others have said, adding TORs and triples will give your Rocket a bit more oomph but they won't really change the character of the bike by a huge amount. If you're wanting to improve the sound a little and have it set up for further mods, you could seriously consider those changes straight away. I'd even go so far as to say it would be sensible to get the dealer to fit the TORs at least.

It's not so much the extraordinary power of the Rocket that takes getting used to - although you have to respect it. It's the sheer size and weight, especially at slow speeds, that takes a little time. Doing some mods straight up really is a toss of the coin thing. Just make sure you get the hang of her before trying tight U-turns in front of a crowd. ;)

Triumph do an OK seat; the dual touring seat. I love mine and it has a rider back rest which is a great option to have especially on a trip or when you give it handful.

Anyway, you're going to enjoy the bike regardless of what and when you change things. All the help you need is here.

Not ride until April??? I'd go mad.

As long as u dont mind paying around $100/hr for a job a blind monkey could do  Hell even Richard might be in with a shot :D Just Kidding coffee ;) i mean Richard

anyone that is half handy with a set sockets and spanners can change a set of exhaust mufflers Richard why would waste the fun by paying some one to do what you can your self but to be honest I still say get used to it first then decide after reading some of the threads and depending on whether you want a 240hp monster killer or a more sedate 150hp power-tourer decide before spending money only to find you wanted more and then find yourself spending more!! So take your time check just how much Bang!! you realy want for your buck, read lot of threads and ask Questions :)

You're right of course; anyone can bolt virtually anything on. Hell, I reckon even I could manage it even before my first coffee. But without telling him to start messing with TuneECU or Tune Boy or buying a PowerCommander or running to a dyno, how would you suggest he gets it mapped for the new exhaust? I still reckon it would be $100 well spent.

I would spend the money on the jardines for the Roadster before I wasted money on the TORS Of course there are even better pipes that will bring you more HP then the Jardines but with better comes more money. Other then that the first pointers about getting used to what you have is the best idea. these exhaust and filter mods is just a weekend at the most if you do not have much experience.
Welcome

Mustang seats (IMO) are the best seats going. Having said that, only Corbin does a seat for the Rocket III.

When I called Mustang Seats to inquire about getting a seat for the Rocket III, the guy laughed and boldly stated "We'll never do a seat for a Rocket III".

Needless to say, the Triumph Gel Seat is a better investment than the stock seat, "butt" for an extra few dollars you can get the best seat available through Corbin.

My two cents...

mine came with the triumph gel seat and it's fine but in the interest of full disclusure I've spent over a 100 miles on a bicycle seat. Everything is good after that.
