LET'S GO BRANDON
Now, I understand this might not be very common configuration, so keep that in mind. I will start by stating that I ran into this issue when I attempted to fit the Kuryakyn Iso grips to my Roadster. The part that made this mod necessary was the combo of iso grips, with either the stock bar weights OR some other bar end accessory (in my case Barkbusters) AND some @chandelierman T-bars.
The iso grips are longer than the stock rubbers:
This made the stock spacers that go between the end weight / other accessory too short so I had a friend machine me some longer ones:
Stock on the right/new and improved longer one on the left. These were made out of some 6061 AL bar stock that he had in the scrap bin. I am not a fan of chrome and things that you have to shine, but since these aren't going to be seen and I was bored, I shined them up a bit before putting them on....
you can see how much farther they stick out/into the space between the grip/bar weight/threaded part of the bar below.
Stock:
new one:
This enabled the stock bar weight to fit correctly on the T-bars with the iso grips:
I can now use just the stock bar weights and/or Barkbusters (Biggest reason for doing this was to enable the Barkbusters to be used as I ride year round and they help ALOT to cut back on wind chill to the hands! :
