mirrors are crap!

Went with the rivco signal mirrors. Great view and bright lights. R3 sells the adapters for the standard mirror setups; around $30 I think, but didn't need them for the Rivcos as they came with them.

+1 but I did due the adapters for a little bit of extra height

Triumph uses these crappy inserts to lock the mirror arm into the switch housing, if you inadvertently rotate the arm while trying to adjust the mirror you will fubar this insert and need to replace it.

Yup, I noticed those crappy little shims. My dealer had another rocket on the floor when I bought my bike and it had the teardrop shaped mirrors. Mine had the round mirrors (worthless) and I asked him to swap them out....and he did, it wasn't an issue. Then I thought I would like a set of the Triumph oval mirrors so I ordered them. That's when I discovered the little shims. Unfortunately, the mirrors looked cool but were smaller with less visibility, so I returned them for a refund. As for the shims and the mirror arms not holding tight, Triumph uses a wave washer on the fastening bolt so I simply added a thin washer in addition to the wave washer. I snugged it down and now it holds just fine....in spite of the little shim being worn. Make sure the washer has hole big enough to fit over the shoulder on the bolt.

I've used long stem Kuryakyn Magnum Plus mirrors with flat glass on two bikes. Large enough to get a good field of view but they vibrate too much. i just ordered same but with convex glass from Fast Eddy along with BC adaptors.

I have the tear drops and they vibrate like crazy. The original mickey mouse mirrors was clear as a bell. I bought new inserts and reinstalled the tear drops and they still vibrate. I can feel the vibration in the handle bars when I grab the mirror and just hold on to it.

Yeah, the mirrors are crap. What a coincidence that Triumph has several other variants for sale as accessories that aren't crap... for a lot of money.

This thread reminds me I need to order a set of Kuryakyn Magnums, stat, before the riding season really kicks off. Either that, or embrace the First Rule of Italian Driving...
