Guys my mate just got a storm yesterday, he's not much of a PC guy so I said I would ask you lot a question.
First here is his bike

He doesn't fancy paying the huge sum for triumph luggage, so what are the alternatives? Are there some aftermarket panniers he could make fit?

Just had a google moment and found these Link Removed

K-Drive's are inexpensive and are good quality. I enjoy mine and overload them frequently, they hold their shape and work well. They are easy to remove and lock to the brackets that are chrome and attractive when bags are removed. There are sets with lockable lids and different sizes, I went with the smaller ones without locking lids and probably should have opted for the larger size but still very happy with them.

I am impressed that Triumph listened and went with the trademark twin headlight setup on the Storm. I wish that they would do it on the R3T.

So when do you think they will start to burn up the ignition switches on the Storms?

thanks guys, i have passed on links to all these. The viking bags look like good value and are cheap enough to make it worth sending over to Scotland.
When the bike was picked up the guy said to him not to leave the bike with the ignition switched on and not running as the system would overload easy!!! When we stopped the headlight shells were hot to the touch and I told him about the relay kits and to watch out for ignition problems.

Why would anyone design an electrical system that did that!!!!!! Its not that hard......and they managed to engineer the R3T and make it work!!!!!

Now the headlight shells should not be hot form the electrical or anything!!!! SOmething doesnt make sense........Lets see what others have to say

mutt

The only reason the Touring typically doesn't have switch problems is because it only has one headlamp. And light bulbs get hot, the little Triumph fog lights get so hot they will blister your skin in a flash. (no pun intended)
