Where do you lift a R3C from? Lifting from the bottom of the engine sump seems kind of scary to me. I'm tired of rolling the bike back and forth to polish wheels and I'd like more room to do oil changes. I might even start taking my own wheels off for tire changes if I had a proper lift.

I lift mine with a motorcycle jack, and cut 2x4" with two flipped over iron lift bracket pieces; that Xhdskip made a long time ago for us (I can't use them normally because the holes on my bottom frame that they go into; are too small).

Here's a pic of my Rocket lifted in this manner. Kind of hard to see how I have the 2x4" on the left lift arm of the jack; but if you have one of these Sears motorcycle lifts; you'll will see how to position it.

Each end of the 2x4" makes contact with the bottom frame's two lugs; towards the rear of the engine's sump. I use the steel brackets Xhdskip made; on each end of the 2x4 to keep the lugs from digging in to the wood.

The jack stands are just there as an afterthought (under the swingarm) since I had my bike lifted overnight; while it was getting a new tire mounted on the wheel.

Here's a grainy closeup. The purple arrow points to the upside down brackets that I use; or misuse; however you want to quantify that....

Done 2 tyre changes now using a pair of regular trolly jacks under each side, lifting under those triangular lugs with the hole in them.No brackets needed.

I use a Harbor Freight lift. ~ $325 with a coupon from Cycle World or Rider Magazine.

I also use a Black Widow scissor jack on the lift to get the rear wheel up.
