You guys just made me laugh, talk about blunt and I was trying to be discreate
I'm going Monday to go pick up my finish painted pieces but I don't want to put on my Rocket untill all my pieces are done.
How hard is it to take my tank off, and put my new one on when its fiished? What is the best way to empty my tank? does any one have some step by step for dummys?
Loosen the nut on the bolt at the back.
Raise the tank and prop it up with your prop wand.
While looking under the tank, take a paint pen or something,
and mark where the hoses you're about to disconnect go.
remove tank.
It won't loose more than a thimbleful of gas that was in the lines.
Thats the best I can remember,
it's been awhile since I pulled mine off the first time.
Seems like I use to have to take the bearclaw off too.
Now pulling the pump out,
thats an adventure in itself the first time.
For that, you will need to drain your tank.
HellFires method is the same one I use.
After you have all the gas out you can get out,
flip it over on a towel or something and loosen the lock nuts that hold the pump assembly in.
Lift it out about an inch or two so you can see what you're dealing with.
You'll see a metal rod that the float is on the end of.
I used a big ziptie to go around and under the float to lift it out FIRST.
Then pulled the rest out.
Might as well bend it about 1/4 inch while you got it out to correct the gas light coming on early.
Thats the best I can remember right off the top.
Hope it helps.
Can't wait to see the finished product.
peace,
