Some motorcycle video snippets from a dozen years at the Bonneville Salt Flats

Did I just read you're taking the Kaw out next year?! o_O
I just was wondering out loud how fast it might go. I would like to end my Bonneville career on a good note. I'm sure there would be several obstacles to overcome. Since I don't have anything else to run the Kawasaki Z900RS SE might work well with a few tweaks.

Excellent video.
Really enjoyed watching that. Thanks for sharing

I very much doubt I will ever visit the salt flats, let alone ride on it, but I think your film footage really helps to communicate what it might be like, and it doesn't look easy.
Either struggling for grip or combating imperfections in the surface, or both at the same time.

On those Rocket 3 runs, you can really see the mass of the machine amplifying the instability that's being induced into the bike by the road surface.
Just goes to show that on a bike, weight really does matter.....even in a straight line!
I wonder what the comparison would be like, if on the same day, on the same track, the older Rocket 3 and the current Rocket 3 would compare in the stability stakes. 🤔

Well, "******ity Old Fart" here. Could be a nice video, but I had to cut it short cause of all the silly music. Seems I can't find a video anywhere, without some kind of mind numbing music blaring away. I like to hear the REAL noise. The engines, the conversations. Just sayin, that's all.

That is an excellent question. I've ridden six bikes in several configurations including the Rocket 3 and on this course/conditions this Rocket 3 gave me more problems than all the other bikes and runs combined. I think with four more runs we could have had it dialed in, adjusted to the course conditions and modified how I needed to ride it enough to get to average 180 mph on that course.
