Left rear turn signal

My left rear turn signal has stopped working . I checked the bulb and it still works. Replaced the bulb with the opposite side bulb and still no flash. The indicator and the front bulb flash quickly which was my first indicatind that there was a problem. Where is a good place to start looking for the problem? Thanks for your time.

First place I'd look is the first connection. It's probably under the rear fender where lots of water splashes.

2nd place...remove right side panel...wires run along there just under edge of your seat...you'll find the correct one by following it from the light...could be a faulty connection there or a pinched wire...or relay maybe..the relay is the only 3 pronged relay there maybe an inch by an inch square...cheap to replace.

I did a write-up on this @BigNorm . The design of the sockets is deficient, and I had to pull them apart and re-bend the metal contacts. That the contacts were messed up to start with was almost certainly during original assembly (whether at the factory or as part of delivery). And even though I know for what to look, there is no guarantee I won't make the same mistake the next time a bulb needs to be changed -- though I'm looking at the recent post on LEDs and following that lead.

So I would check the socket, and the other suggestions are good too.

In the end, the flawed design of the OEM indicator light housings was the culprit.

The ground contact in particular, is apt to get caught by the insertion of the bulb, and bent out of the way. When this happens (and upon thorough inspection, three of the four sockets were in this condition from when I took delivery of the bike new), there are three possibilities: 1) the contact will still contact the ground, and only the ground, and the bulb will work; 2) the contact will be bent out of the way making no contact - and the bulb will not work; 3) the contact will be bent in such a way as to touch the power contact creating a short (please note -- this is a misnomer, as the bulbs are not polarized and Triumph did not bother to check which tab was power and which tab was ground - but one contact is inside the cylinder of the receptacle for the bulb base, while the other contact is at the bottom of the receptacle for the bulb, and once the bulb is inserted, provides spring tension).

Over time, a bent contact could vibrate between all three possibilities above.

In any case, my daughter corrected all four sockets -- found I had one burnt out bulb -- and I'm back in business.

I will be ordering replacement sockets -- and doing this myself -- will carefully insert the bulbs to maintain nominal performance.

Thanks. This is a new one for me. What does he mean by 4 sockets? Does he mean the contact points?

light sockets where the bulbs twist in im thinking...2 at front 2 at rear?..

Yes the plug at the light like paul said comes loose, I experienced this when I added new led bulbs
