Just checked and found Kindle is staying up with Nook by charging $2.00 more for my book than they did a month ago. Must be the season for profiteering. On the plus side the book price is listed as $24.95 and you can buy 12 new from $12.95(WTF?). (Used prices are less) If anyone understands any of this let me know, I'm clueless (and or hoplessly confused).

I'm not a Kindle expert, but did help buy a Kindle Fire for someone this season.

The Kindle is in a bit of a demand right now. It's revitalizing the market for 7" tablets as well.

Profit comes with the territory. These days most new devices die a quick death and pull down a seven-figure development cost with it; so if one is starting to sell at any rate then responding to what the market will pay isn't unexpected.

I just couldn't connect the dots of the post and how it related to an R3.

Skipper, I am doing much better. I just got out of the hospital. Was there a week. I got so "down" with the torment from a weird mouth infection they went ahead and did an esophageal dilation to help with swallowing. Then kept me on IV antibiotics and atifungals for the duration. It was successful but have to have another dialation done in two weeks. I should be able to eat normally. Then I can have all the external plumbing (feeding tube and IV port) removed.

MB said I laughed out loud for the first time in months last night. Also I actually ate three bowls of whipped cream with fuit cocktail! MAN!

sorry guys, but i want to hold that book in my hands that im reading an feel its pages....love reading an cannot imagine being without my over 3000 collection of books, love the smell of the paper an turning the pages myself.....old school? Perhaps....makes me happy? Like a kid in a candy store!!!!!

These days "preferred content" comes in many forms, and once one experiences a situation where can be carried on your waist, vehicle caddy, or tossed with your shirt and shoes in luggage or tank bag - it changes things.

My entire music collection exists within iTunes on my PC, but the same music is also stored in Google Music "in the cloud". As a result, my CDs sit primarily in a closest except for a few that travel in my vehicle - however, I don't buy that many CDs these days.

Amazon knows that the next "frontier" is what exists today as printed material; and both Google and Apple are furiously working to also become the lead in content delivery. I'm working on an app for my other Triumph site to function within Google Currents. I like Barnes and Noble like anyone else, but am concerned that the traditional storefront model will suffer as this business grows. In time, many folks will get rid of their printed books and just access them online using whatever device they wish.

We are moving back to a thin-client computing world. Instead of green-screen terminals; we're using tablets, phones, Smart TVs, and other devices to get things done.

OK, here's the connection. I wrote a book. I ride an R3. I wrote a story in my book about my R3. Publishers price for the book is $24.95. The list price when I paid to have the book offered on Kindle was $7.95. Nook went for $7.95. Then Nook upped their price. Amazon upped theirs. Question, do the electrons cost more today? Why did the price go up in November/December? Hmmnn......

If you haven't heard of the book (hard to imagine on this forum) you can check it out on Amazon and read the first chapter free (and it has R3 content). Just click the "Look Inside" button. It might get that laughing thing working again.

Does that explain it?

Merry Christmas to all.
Regards
