Can anybody tell me the difference in flow between the 2780's and the taller round RU1770's. I am installing a set of Jardines on my Roadster Monday. Will they flow enough to warrant better filters. I'm currently using the 3/4" taller version with the A/T sensor mounted in the end of the #2 filter. No bearclaw needless to say.
Thanks in advance.

Also, does anyone know about the increase you should see with the Jardines over TOR's with a free flowing crossover

Here is an old thread that I think will answer your question. Also Toystoretom has run both the 1770s and 2780s. He says he can tell a difference with the 1770s on.

While the flow of the 2780s is low, K&N did say that fitting them directly on the TB will help.

If you are looking for good flow and something to cram under the claw Unifilters will fit. I am just not big on oiled foam filters.

The Jars will flow much better and you will gain some top end but likely lose a little down low. Other than the Preds, I think the Jars sound the best.

You mean the 2780's aren't enough surface area for the TB's or the shape messes with the air flow? I know the motor sucks a tremendous amount of air (when you can feel the wind on your leg going backward, that's alot of air) but it never occurred to me that I might me starving the poor thing.

Did you ever stand behind the bike with aftermarket freeflow exhaust and get hit with a puff of air? That's alot of air ... my cat isn't afraid of anything, will walk up to a lawnmower just to say hi. He hates wind .... he won't stand behind the bike because of the hurricane back there.

I should consider different filters so I'll let you guys decide what works best and make a change. Keep discussing this and I'll keep reading.

I don't remember the the number, but my K and N's are the same as the ones people are using under the BC. Only difference is they are 3/4 inch longer. After I install the Jardines tomorrow and get her on the dyno. I
ll do a pull with the ones on it before i chjange to the 1770's to see the difference in A/F. I expect her to go leaner, which is a good thing. Then start tuning from there.
Thanks for the info Pig9
