The 1770s are actually taller than the 4040s. But I went with them because of the angled flange. I could turn them away from my knee. They probably look shorter because half are hidden by the claw. I looked hard at the 2510s as well for the same reason.

Been studying the K&N catalog a bit tonight and am thinking the 2510 as I like that they are not tall (3.5") and the round tapered look is cool too.

to gain anything in the way of a real performance improvement from a air cleaner change you need to derestrict the exhaust some as well, the size from small to - larges is 2780, 3050/1770, 4040, the 2780's will fit under bearclaw (with out cutting it) the others wont, also the Ramair will move more air than the 2780's and also fit under a unmodified bearclaw, hope this helps
Oh and not even sure the 3050 will fit as I do not know of any body running them as yet

The K&N E-3050 should fit the Rocket just fine, although NOT under a stock BearClaw.
Some air filters in the correct ID are listed below.
ID=inside dia - D=outside Dia - H=total height - FL=Flange Length - degrees=flange angle

E-3050 - 2.438 in (62 mm) ID - 3.5 in (89 mm) D - 3.5 in (89 mm) H - No Rubber Flange
RU-1770 - 2.438 in (62 mm) ID - 3.75 in (95 mm) D - 6 in (152 mm) H - Rubber 2 in (51 mm) FL - 20 degrees 0 in (0 mm)
RU-1760 - 2.438 in (62 mm) ID - 3.75 in (95 mm) D - 5 in (127 mm) H - Rubber 2 in (51 mm) FL - 20 degrees 0 in (0 mm)
RU-0800 - 2.438 in (62 mm) ID - 3.5 in (89 mm) D - 4 in (102 mm) H - Rubber 0.625 in (16 mm) FL - 0 degrees 0 in (0 mm)

Anyone know how the "new & supposedly improved" RamAir is working out?
I haven't read much about it here.
