Jardine / K&N setup

Ticking noise could also be leaking exhaust gasket at the head.

Good point, but before the Jardine exhaust was installed there was no "ticking" noise. As I said before, other members on this list running Jardines have mentioned the same thing (ie. ticking noise at idle).

Yea more induction noise from the valve train with k&n's, you soon get over it and after a while wont even notice it anymore........... :wink:
Reminds me of the old joke about an aircraft maintenance log

Pilot;

Unfamiliar noise from engine.

Engineer;

Listened to engine for 15 minutes, noise now familiar.

I will remember that for the next fruitloop with a noise that cant be diagnosed even with my finely tuned ears......... :lol: :lol: :lol:

I have the Jardines and the triple K&Ns as well, and was just curious if you can hear a ticking noise coming from the exhaust manifold. I have heard others say that they also hear this.

Come to think of it, the sound from the exhaust manifold seems more like a chicka-chicka-chicka in comparison to the vroom-vroom-vroom of the Jardines. Maybe I'm being a bit obsessive about a possible exhaust leak, but when I install a system that has no torque specifications to the manifold I get a bit nervous. Anyway, I am enjoying the Latin beat until a get a negative heads up.

BTW, anyone in California wanting a personalized license plate, be prepared to wait for it. I ordered mine on in August of this year, and just yesterday received a notice that the plate is waiting to be retrieved at my local DMV office. When I called the DVM on Monday, they said that they had no record of it. Then they blamed the lag on the prison inmates who stamp them out. Our local government at work. Could I expect anything less? Oh, and did I mention that I have to wait until January 6th for an appointment to pick it up? :(

WTF? The inmates didn't have time to make them? What, are too many taking vacation for the holidays or something? :lol:

They must be having lockdowns and riots constantly, though I have not heard anything on the news lately about it. Or maybe they are too busy playing hide the soap in he shower. Anyway, it was a lame comment by a minor bureaucrat who has probably nothing better to do all day but to answer phone calls and give out false information.
