I went with the K&N / Jardine setup. Some people say that there is more intake noise with the triple K&N filters.

Some say cherp.

Some say slerp.

I say your all nuts because I can't anything above those Jardines!

It's not a noisebox like the HD yoyos (yes I owned one).

It just sounds like it should...a pissed off grizzly bear.

Thanks for everyones help!

A ticking from the manifold?

From inside or outside? Is there a pattern to the ticking?

No, it's just a ticking at idle. Presumably it's lifter noise. My first guess would be that the Jardine headers are of a thinner material than the stock ones, or that the sound transmits because it's a different material. But others on this list have mentioned the noise too. There were no torque specs with the Jardines, and I did tighten them down a couple of turns more that I would otherwise.

Yea more induction noise from the valve train with k&n's, you soon get over it and after a while wont even notice it anymore...........

That's what I said, you will get used to it........ no need to repeat yourself.

I had "ticking" on my "05"

traced it to the coil bolts being too long
and not clamping the coil to the mount,
on the front coil inside the stering head

the "tick" was an electric spark

worth checking
