Its lonely around here.

We just got back from a 170 mile jaunt today; rode with several friends over to JB Boondocks on Little Lake Harris in Lake County for lunch. We live on the west coast, so it makes for a nice ride on the back roads.

Since I still haven't found any other Rocket Captains around here; we ride with a Valkyrie riders club. Overall, very nice folk, and more pleasant to be around than some of the Hardley guys I've run across. There's actually one Harldey guy in the group; guess he likes riding with them better, too.

For the mileage counters; When I filled up with 170 on the clock; the gauge said I had another 45 miles to go before empty. The gas gauge showed 3/16ths of a tank left, and the low fuel light was on. It came on at 62 miles 'til empty.
I have had a few H-Ds and have been riding with H-D guys including HOG members and find them to be a little over the top anti any other bike so now I ride with two guys with H-Ds and that is it. I have had several bikes including a 08 VN2000 and a 2000 Valkyrie Interstate and those two bikes seemed to keep the H-D quite. The R3R keeps them completely silence. HA HA HA (evil laugh). Other bike owners are more inviting than the HOG guys.

Just came from a ride too...was hanging out with a few guys(2 vulcan and 1 softail), ofcourse i gotta be the sweeper, if not they say i am riding by myself, nobody would be able to keep up. Hey Rick lmk whenever you wanna hang out up here, i am pretty much down to ride anywhere.
I know what you mean, only Rockets and big cc Rice Rockets can keep up. HA HA HA (evil laugh again).

I've NEVER had an issue with ANY HD rider and I have ridden with many over the past 12 years with both with my V2K and my R3R!
Just sayin' . . .

Well perhaps this has more to do with you being from NY and I from WA State.  :p

I just came back from a ride in the rain. I had made arrangements to meet a husband and wife couple from Phoenix that are traveling cross country on 07 and 11 Rockets. My wife and I had coffee, breakfast and listened to some good travel stories with them.
I'm guessing Martin & Lizz. If I'd known you were going to see them then I would have got you to say g'day for me.

Engine heat is a common issue for most bikes especially air cooled V-twins. I do enjoy the heat from the Rocket on cooler days. The people I met this morning have a 07 Rocket with Corbin beetle bags, good looking but they hate them because they leak terribly. The 11 R3R has LeatherLyke bags and they are bigger and dry. Iup. have a Tour Master tank bag and back rest bag on my R3R and it is enough for an overnight or sweatshirts when riding two.

I have the Edge leather bags and they work well No leaking. I mounted them too close to the pipes and almost runited them. Had to build an alumium heat plate.

As far as riders go, I have ridden with just about every type of group. I have had Goldwing riders spit on my Harley, and Harley riders turn their noses up at my BMW. The Rocket gets respect across all ranks. I mean, i you are not on a 'Busa, you wont keep up.

I take it all in stride. If it wasnt brand loyalty it would be something else. If people are dicks, I give them the gift of goodby. For the most part I find most riders good guys. You want snobby, try owning a vintage Vette.

People just want you to find them interesting, and I find most people interesting. Especially if they ride.

Life is too short for anything else.

Yes sir you are correct. Very nice people. My wife and I are happy to have met them.

Yes sir. I enjoying meeting new people everyday. I dont discriminate. I love almost every type and make of bike and people. I do agree with Rick McC, although I have had a few H-Ds and I ride with some of the same guys. When I rode a different bike, mostly of the Kawasaki variety and met with a group of mostly H-D riders I became the butt of some stupid jokes. And some of the same guys I rode with on my Shovel were part of the BS. So I avois that BS as well. But the Rocket gets respect from the guys that are famaliar with them. They guys that arent become famaliar before I leave the group I am with.
