over 5 weeks off the road with an electrical fault. It was the main power lead from the battery, the wire had broken inside the plastic sheathe covering the spade connector where it connects to whatever?.

Mechanic said that could have been why it let me down the first time about 3 months ago. With the wire broken it could have been causing a spike which played havoc with the engine management system and thats why it shut down.

Dont know if thats right but a couple of people have suggested that it could put itself on 'safe' mode with just enough power to get you home when that happens.

Glad you got it sorted mate ... Mittzy's organised a get-together to donate blood. Should just gush out of you considering how frustrating an electrical problem can be .. gets the blood pressure up that's for sure ;)

Good to hear Al now you will just have get out and ride the bloody thing at every opportunity to make up for lost time:D

Mine did the exact same thing. I took it in for the Roadster "recall" and when the mechanic was doing the wiring he damage spade connector. I couldn't figure out what was going on until I started inspecting every single connection. That's when I found it. I bypassed it all together with a inline fuse. Triumph needs to beef up it's fuse boxes.
