Finally! I picked up The Beast today. I only rode about 15 miles for a number of reasons but it sure was interesting. I'll have to get used to a lot of things such as foot position, turn signals, shift lever position, rear brake position.

Understand that I'm coming from a touring BMW. The seating is straight up & down, the turn signals are under both handle bar grips, and I had partially integrated anti-lock brakes. That means I only had to use the right front break lever to stop the bike.
I've got lots of time to get used to the Rocket. I'm impressed with the comfort & handling. The power wasn't as intimidating as I expected. The torque in all gears is great. Wish I had a gear indicator.

Anyway, here is the first photo I took of my new R3T
in front of my garage.

That is a good looking bike, Bob.. You've outfitted it well.. :) That's one of the most appealing R3Ts I've seen so far.. :)

The first thing I added was a PalmWrest. It's not cruise control but will help my right hand & wrist. I have a severe form of arthritis. Next add, a leather tubular shaped bedroll style top pack.

To be honest I rode 181 miles a few weeks ago and knew I had to have a custom seat made from the solo saddle. I'm a diabetic with circulation issues so it's being done for medical reasons as well as comfort. I've used this saddle maker, Don Weber, on my BMW RT seat. He makes only one seat a day while you wait. My appointment is next Tuesday, Feb 10. The solo saddle is $450.

thanks bob
let us know how new set up works
i find that after 30 years biking the old back aint what it used to be
should have done more research on seat options before purchasing
regards mike
